The main goal of The Global Composition 2018 was to bring
together transdisciplinary high-level research of scholars, scientists,
artists, designers and engineers.
Moreover, participants have
been able to discuss innovative cultural and educational practices as
well as soundscape artworks by pedagogues and media makers.
This
inspiring blend of intellectual analysis, practical design, engaged
environmental, social and political work as well as artistic production
is what constituted the essence of Soundscape Studies and Acoustic
Ecology.
In order to create occasions for intense auditory
experiences in a conference on listening, The Global Composition 2018
offered daily listening workshops.
The workshops introduced
practically to some of Acoustic Ecology’s and Soundscape Studies’
genuine methodologies, and – additionally to the auditory experience
they provide – also reflected and analyzed them.
The keynote
workshops aimed at fostering the instruments for aesthetic
facilitation/media cultural education, research, and creation, relaying
their methodologies to Acoustic Ecology’s core thoughts and intentions,
and – last but not least – discussing and adapting them, passing them on
to younger generations, and ensuring their future practicability.Keynote workshops – supported by hFMA – have been given by
• Ioanna Etmektsoglu (Greece)
• Eric Leonardson (USA)
• Hildegard Westerkamp (Canada)
