Each year, the World Soundtrack Academy organises a composition
contest for young international film composers with the support of
Sabam, the Belgian Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers.
This
year, candidates are asked to compose music for a scene of ‘J’ai perdu
mon corps’ (I Lost My Body), an animated film by Jérémy Clapin that was
selected for the International Competition last year at Film Fest Gent
2019. Deadline for entries: 31.05.2020.
The jury will
choose three finalists, whose compositions will be performed live in
world premiere by the Brussels Philharmonic conducted by Dirk Brossé
during the World Soundtrack Awards Concert in Capitole Ghent, Belgium on
24 October 2020. The finalists will also be invited to attend the film
music events at Film Fest Ghent, such as the WSA networking dinner, the
film music industry days and the WSA press conference and meet &
greet. The winner
will be honoured with the Sabam Award for the Most Original
Composition by a Young International Composer, worth € 2.500.
