The Japanese Film Festival Nippon Connection was founded in the year 2000 and has since become the biggest platform for Japanese cinema worldwide, featuring more than 100 films and welcoming over 16,500 visitors every year. The festival has a strong focus on the exchange between film-makers and the audience. Many renowned directors, actors, and producers present their films personally at Nippon Connection. The film program is topped off by a variety of cultural events including lectures, panel discussions, and workshops. In 2013 the festival center will be located at Mousonturm and Naxoshalle, with additional screenings taking place at the German Film Museum and Mal Seh'n cinema. The festival is organized by the non-profit Nippon Connection registered association.
