The International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg is the place where newcomer directors make their first steps. The International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg – this year already in its 67th edition (15 to 25 November, 2018) – is consequently specialized on arthouse films by highly talented newcomers from all around the world – films with a personal mark.

The festival presents its selection to more than 200 journalists and 50,000 spectators and cares for a vibrant atmosphere for the artists! They present these newcomers as real premieres and as a special offer to buyers from all around the world to get high quality films.

An independent International Jury awards the following prizes:

»Grand Newcomer Award Mannheim-Heidelberg«
For the best fiction feature film with a minimum length of 70 minutes.

»Talent Award Mannheim-Heidelberg«
For the best unconventionally narrated feature film with a minimum length of 70 minutes.

»Special Jury Award Mannheim-Heidelberg«
For an outstanding performance as actor, writer, director,
d.o.p. etc. Minimum length of the film is 70 minutes.

»Special Mentions of Mannheim-Heidelberg«
For a remarkable film or a special achievement like acting,
photography, music, montage, etc.

The »Audience Award of Mannheim-Heidelberg«
for the film most liked by the audience of the Festival.
