What remains, when we leave?
This exhibition of photographic works by Meral Pourhosseinzadeh (Student of the Master’s program International Media Cultural Work (IMC) at Hochschule Darmstadt) @meraliya_ , trace the Iranian carpet as a bearer of memory, ritual and lived experience. Displaced from its familiar ceremonial role, the carpet appears quietly charged: holding absence, farewell and what lingers when life withdraws.
These images do not document loss.
They stay with it and listen to what remains.
In a time when lives are reduced to numbers, storytelling becomes a radical gesture. The carpet emerges as a mediator: between bodies and earth, intimacy and ritual, permanence and impermanence.
Beyond the photographic works, visitors are invited into a subtle performative layer. One that unfolds through presence, attention and quiet participation, revealing itself differently to those who linger.
