Die Filmreihe DELEUZE (wieder) SEHEN fragt danach, welche Filme der französische Philosoph Gilles Deleuze nach seinem Tode in Paris am 4.11.1995 wohl gerne gesehen und über sie nachgedacht hätte. Deleuze verfasste zahlreiche Schriften über Philosophie, Literatur, Film und Kunst. Die Filmtheorie von Gilles Deleuze, ist grundgelegt in den beiden Werken: Kino 1 Das Bewegungsbild (1983/1985) und Kino 2 Das Zeitbild (1985/1991). Diese Schriften gehört mittlerweile zum Kanon der internationalen Filmwissenschaften.
Die Filmreihe will
die Aktualität von Gilles Deleuze dokumentieren, befragen und prüfen -
anhand von einzelnen Filmen soll Deleuze (wieder) gesehen werden.

Lost (last season, final episode)
J.J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, Feffrey Lieber (US 2010, 104´, OV) In Gilles Deleuze from A to Z, the series of interviews with Claire Parnet that were broadcast after his death, Deleuze expresses his contempt for television as a medium that mainly expresses opinions in the form of discussions and interrogations. Twenty years later, television has evolved and television drama has extended cinematographic qualities. ABC's Lost, a television show that run for six seasons with the last episode in 2010, is one of these remarkable serialized narratives that deals with philosophical problems. After a plane crash a group of people find themselves on a desert island. What is the meaning of a desert island in relation to their (previous) lives? What ontological and epistemological events does it contain? I will introduce the series and relate it to Deleuze's writings on desert islands, as well as to his cinema books and his work on David Hume. (Patricia Pisters)

Patricia Pisters Vortrag zu Lost: The Problem of a Desert Island
Patricia Pisters is professor of film studies at the Department of Media Studies of the University of Amsterdam and director of the Amsterdam School of Cultural Analysis (ASCA). She is programme director of the research group »Neuraesthetics and Neurocultures« and co-director (with Josef Früchtl) of the research group »Film and Philosophy«. Publications include The Matrix of Visual Culture: Working with Deleuze in Film Theory (Stanford University Press, 2003) and The Neuro-Image: A Deleuzian Film-Philosophy of Digital Screen Culture (Stanford University Press, 2012).

Ein Filmpoem über einen Kontinent bei Nacht, eine verdämmernde und gleichzeitig hoch-angespannte Kultur, ein »Abendland«, das sich – oft etwas selbstbesessen – als Gipfelpunkt der menschlichen Zivilisation sieht und gleichzeitig als Dienstleistungsgesellschaft sehr pragmatisch vor sich hin wuchert.
